It’s a lovely stretch of sand, open but with some shelter in the small dunes. The water here is fresh and used by Sligo’s many surfers. The beach has rocks at one end and the attractive Knocklane hill at the other.

Lissadell beach is located 1.5km from the village of Raghley. The beach itself exists of fine sand with a few rocks. There is also a little river which runs along the beach and makes a fantastic playground for kids.

Right beside the beach are the fantastic grounds of Lissadell house, a neo-classical greek revivalist style country house built between 1830 and 1835.

Streedagh Strand is an impressive 3km long sandy beach located on the north western shore of a sandbar linking Streedagh Point to an area known as Connor’s Island. This is an exposed beach with reef breaks which create ideal surfing conditions all year round.
